Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for an acute care hospital's CT/X-Ray department, requiring at least 1 year of CT and X-ray experience along with the ability to start IVs.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Radiology department, covering both CT and X-ray duties
- Department includes 1 CT scanner and 2 X-ray rooms at the hospital, with possible floating to outpatient clinics for X-ray coverage
- CT equipment includes a Fuji Sceneria View CT scanner; X-ray equipment includes a Digital Diagnostic Philips room and a GE Optima 220 portable — brief on-site training provided for all equipment
- PACS system is NOVA RAD; EMR is TruBridge (CPSI/Evident)
- Average daily volume is 25–50 X-ray studies and 25–30 CT scans
- Common studies include standard radiology exams, ER and OR X-rays, common CT and CTA exams — no fluoroscopy on site
- All radiology reads performed remotely via Teleradiology (no on-site radiologist)
- 12-hour night shifts: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, plus every other Saturday
- On-call rotation occurs approximately every 5 weeks, covering 7 consecutive days (5:00 PM–7:00 AM weekdays and 24-hour weekend coverage); 30-minute response time required
- Holiday coverage is required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT and X-ray experience required
- ARRT (R) required; ARRT (CT) preferred
- NM CT/Radiology state license required (if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Must be able to start IVs
- Willingness to perform OR/C-arm work is required (prior OR experience not mandatory)
- Strong CT experience required for overnight solo coverage
Additional Information
- Perform common CT and CTA exams as well as standard radiology exams including ER and OR support — no fluoroscopy on site
- First-time travelers with experience in a similar setting are welcome to apply
- Up to 1 week of on-site departmental orientation provided
- Facility-required online modules must be completed prior to beginning floor work
- Black scrubs required
- Schedule is set by the department director; no self-scheduling
