Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/IMCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience, working 4x12 night shifts at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY.

Details

• Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down unit within a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Patient population consists of adult acute care patients requiring a higher level of care than a general med-surg unit, including transfers from the ED, PACU, ICU, and med-surg floors
• Patients include those requiring airway management, acute BiPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV medication infusions
• All patients are on continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Schedule is 4x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with rapid response/code team activation and participation
• Experience with peripheral IV therapy, line care, and management
• Experience with respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions

• Care is delivered using a multidisciplinary team approach in a fast-paced, vigilant environment
• Scrub color must be any combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
