Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Paris, TX, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and proficiency in labor management and cesarean section circulation.

Details

• Night shift position, 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract in a 9-bed Labor & Delivery unit
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Patient population spans all ages, with common cases including labor, pre-term labor, vaginal delivery, cesarean section, and pregnancy complications
• Required to work every other weekend, with additional weekend coverage as needed
• Floating required on an as-needed basis
• On-call responsibilities required as needed
• Equipment includes external fetal monitoring (EFM), IV pumps, and non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) monitors
• EHR systems used: GE Centricity and Meditech
• Located within a Level III Trauma facility serving Northeast TX and Southeast OK

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license with TX privileges required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Required certifications (AHA): BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, AWHONN, and HWC — all must be current prior to start
• Proficiency and independence in labor management required
• Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections and perform OB triage
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include labor management, OB triage, vaginal and cesarean delivery support, and management of pregnancy complications
• Hospital provides scrubs — no personal scrub color required; unnatural hair colors and casual wear are not permitted
• Orientation takes place on Mondays
• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• The facility is a Joint Commission Accredited Chest Pain Center and Advanced Primary Stroke Care Center with a Level I NICU
• Paris, TX is located approximately 110 miles northeast of Dallas near the Texas-Oklahoma border
