Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer (OB-GYN) with at least 1 year of experience and ARDMS certification for a 13-week day shift contract in Winchester, VA.
Details
- Maternal Fetal Medicine department within an acute care hospital setting
- OB/GYN patient population with a focus on high-risk pregnancies
- Performs both vaginal and abdominal ultrasound examinations
- 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- No weekend or call requirements
- Epic EMR
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in OB/GYN or Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography
- ARDMS certification with Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) credential required
- BLS certification from AHA required; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the contract start
- Associate's degree in sonography from an accredited school required; Bachelor's degree preferred — degree must be from a hospital, vocational-technical institute, or military program
- Proficiency in performing obstetrical ultrasound examinations, including vaginal and abdominal studies for high-risk OB/GYN patients
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to diagnostic ultrasound
- Ability to work independently and operate all ultrasound equipment within the scope of a sonographer
- US SSN required for consideration
- License required if applicable
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing a variety of ultrasound examinations, evaluating patient tolerance for procedures, communicating diagnostic results with the care team, providing ultrasound guidance for procedures, and documenting diagnostic and patient data in Epic
- Assists with appropriate billing practices as part of documentation responsibilities
- MFM imaging study experience must be clearly detailed in work history
- Scrub color is TBD
