Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of critical care and emergency care experience for a 13-week day shift travel assignment at an acute-care hospital in Tallahassee, FL.
Details
- 266-bed acute-care hospital with a full respiratory therapy department that rotates through all inpatient floors and two 10-bed ICUs
- Procedures performed include aerosol treatments, BiPAP management, and ventilator management
- Equipment includes Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Philips V60+, and Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers
- Documents using Meditech EMR
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends
- Rotating float throughout all inpatient units
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required; FL license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with critical care and emergency care experience required
- Must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- Two professional references required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- RTs rotate through all floors and both ICUs, working at the top of their licenses including performing intubations, arterial line insertions, and bedside bronchoscopy assists
- The RT team participates in daily interdisciplinary nursing unit rounding and collaborates closely with multiple clinical disciplines
- The respiratory therapy department consists of 30 experienced colleagues with varying levels of expertise
- Patient experience standards include use of AIDET communication framework
