Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week contract at an acute care hospital in Austin, TX, requiring at least 1 year of recent PT experience and active PT licensure.
Details
- Hospital-based inpatient physical therapy position, treating patients across all units of a 364-bed facility
- PT department is located on 5 Central (Rehab Office)
- Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Team consists of approximately 10–12 PTs on weekdays and 6–8 PTs on weekends
- 1 weekend shift per month required, with compensatory days off during the week
- No call requirements
- EMR: Meditech
- 13-week contract duration
Requirements
- Active PT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PT experience required
- Must have active clinical experience within the last 6 months in the PT role
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates will be considered
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Primary responsibilities include patient evaluations with discharge recommendations and treatment delivery to achieve established goals
- Trauma, cardiac, oncology, and critical care experience is preferred but not required
- Vestibular therapy experience is a nice-to-have skill
- Required scrub attire: black pants and olive green tops
- The PT team is known for collaborative support and broad clinical expertise across specialties
- Permanent positions may be available on this unit following the travel assignment
