Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of hospital experience, NICU background, and advanced ventilator skills for a weekend-focused travel assignment in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Details
- Hospital-based respiratory therapy department serving all age groups, with a primary adult population and NICU
- NICU patient care included in this role
- Equipment used includes Dräger ventilator, jet ventilator, and oscillator ventilator
- Epic EMR — experience required
- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule with 0700 or 1900 start times based on staffing and census
- 36 hours per week
- Holiday rotation required — candidate must be available to work 1–2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating across different units throughout the hospital is required
Requirements
- Active RRT credential (NBRC) required — CRTs will not be considered
- Minimum 24 months of RRT/Respiratory Therapy experience in a hospital setting
- NICU experience within the last 18 months required
- Level III or Level IV NICU experience within the last 15 months required
- Experience with jet ventilator, Dräger ventilator, and oscillator ventilator required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), PALS (AHA), and NRP
- Iowa Respiratory Care license highly preferred; licensing candidates will be accepted with an estimated 1–3 week turnaround
- Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the past 15 months — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months required for consideration
- Iowa license required if applicable
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services to a mixed adult and neonatal patient population
- Any color solid scrub tops and bottoms are acceptable
- Candidates who have been employed by the facility as an FTE or PRN within the past 12 months are not eligible — this includes any UnityPoint Health facility; candidates who previously worked as a traveler at this facility are not subject to this restriction
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local rate adjustment
