Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN for a Long Term Care (LTC) night shift position in Wrangell, Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.

- Long term care (LTC) setting within a medical center environment
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license currently in hand — required for consideration
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and ATT
- Flu vaccine required
- Two fingerprint cards must be provided upon acceptance
Additional Information
- Coordinates nursing care procedures for LTC residents of various ages, incorporating individualized care plans, physician orders, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Responsible for delegation and supervision of CNAs, LPNs, and Ward Clerks during assigned shifts
- May serve as charge nurse for the LTC unit when the DON is not physically present
- Conducts nursing assessments, documents findings in the EHR, and writes progress notes and shift reports
- Participates in care conferences, staff meetings, in-service education, and ongoing competency checks
- Provides resident and family education including discharge planning and health promotion
- Floating to other units may be required to support nursing services as needed
