Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery float position at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and AWHONN certification.
Details
- Float position covering Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby Center, and OB Special Care units based on census needs
- L&D unit features 12 LDRs, 3 ORs, 6 OB triage beds, and 8 OB Special Care beds; Mother Baby Center has 34 postpartum rooms
- Facility serves as a regional referral center for high-risk obstetric care and maintains Baby Friendly Recognition for Mother Baby
- 632-bed short-term acute care facility designated as Magnet, Teaching, and Level 1 Trauma
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- 3 weekends required per 4-week schedule (may be scheduled for 1, 2, or all 3 days of a given weekend)
- No on-call requirements
- Epic used for charting; Epic training provided during orientation
- Free parking available with badge access to parking garage
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required (compact licenses not accepted; pending licenses accepted if active by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Antepartum experience required
- Experience at a facility with 100–200 births per month required
- Level 1 Trauma setting experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA preferred), NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced)
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- AWHONN staffing model is utilized on the L&D unit
- Scrub color: Hunter Green
- Completion of pre-start online modules is required; modules vary by specialty
- RTO must be submitted at the time of profile; RTO will not be approved after contract is signed, and a 5-day maximum RTO policy applies per assignment
- Former core staff members must have been separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler (verified through HR prior to consideration)
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
