Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a large Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of ED experience and TNCC certification.
Details
- Large, short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds and a Level I Trauma Center designation
- Emergency Department with an average patient ratio of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Cross-training and floating to other campuses and ED observation required
- Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
- Charting performed in Epic
- Parking is available at a cost of $125/month
- Block scheduling can be accommodated
Requirements
- Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending licensure accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
- Minimum 1.5 years of ED experience required; 2 years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required, preferably at a large facility
- Nurses with any prior disciplinary actions on their RN license are not eligible for this position
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Primarily assigned to one campus with the possibility of rotating to other campuses and ED observation
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- If a weekend shift is missed, it must be made up on another weekend shift within the next 6-week scheduling period
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved; any RTO exceeding 7 days requires manager approval
- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
- Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
