Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Orange, CA, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience with ortho, neuro, and robotics skills.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a 426-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule, primarily Monday–Friday (6:30–15:00), with rotating weekends
• On-call required: minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule, with at least 1 weekend call shift; M–F post-shift call runs 22:30–06:30, and weekend call shifts are 12 hours (06:30–18:30 or 18:30–06:30); call is evenly split between staff and travelers
• Orthopedic, neurological, and robotics surgical cases; candidates with experience in at least 2 of these 3 specialties may be considered
• Self-scheduling environment; clinician will be worked into the first scheduling cycle based on start date
• Charting via Epic (required)
• Scrubs are provided for OR nurses
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licensure will not be accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in at least 2 of the following 3 specialties: orthopedics, neurology, and robotics
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Active professional license at time of consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers may be considered if they have 5 or more years of OR experience
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
• RTO must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; post-offer RTO requests are subject to denial
• Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be accommodated
• Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
• Holiday coverage expectations are subject to the self-scheduling process and manager discretion
