Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
Details
- Position is in a hospital Emergency Department
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 2 on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation to be onsite within one hour
- Every other weekend shift required
- Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
- No block scheduling
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
- No floating requirements
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- TNCC highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of relevant ED nursing experience
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Performs patient assessments, develops and continuously modifies individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Executes nursing interventions and patient care procedures specific to emergency department practice
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient documentation to support the full healthcare team
- Upholds patient and staff safety standards through appropriate nursing interventions and timely reporting of safety hazards
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with staff, patients, and families to promote a positive care environment
- Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the system
- RTO not to exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but a minimum of 3 years of ED experience is required
