Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.

Details

• Position is in a hospital Emergency Department
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 2 on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation to be onsite within one hour
• Every other weekend shift required
• Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
• No block scheduling
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
• No floating requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• TNCC highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of relevant ED nursing experience
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Performs patient assessments, develops and continuously modifies individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
• Executes nursing interventions and patient care procedures specific to emergency department practice
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient documentation to support the full healthcare team
• Upholds patient and staff safety standards through appropriate nursing interventions and timely reporting of safety hazards
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with staff, patients, and families to promote a positive care environment
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the system
• RTO not to exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but a minimum of 3 years of ED experience is required
