Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift travel assignment in a large, award-winning regional referral hospital's Respiratory Services department in Asheville, NC.
Details
- Position is based in the Respiratory Services department of an 854-bed regional referral center and Level II trauma center
- Serves adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations across critical care units and general floors
- Patient ratios range from 10–25 patients per therapist
- Day shift staffs 15–20 RRTs for adult service lines and 3–4 RRTs for NICU/Peds; night shift staffs 12–16 RRTs for adult service lines and 3–4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
- Equipment includes GE R860 adult ventilators, Draeger infant/peds ventilators, Newport HT70 transport ventilator, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen devices
- EMR: Cerner
- Night shift hours: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Floating required to all critical care units and general floors
- At least 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
Requirements
- Active RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Active North Carolina Respiratory Therapist license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NRP preferred; required if caring for neonatal patients
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- SSN (US only; no Canadian SSN) and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
- Work as part of a large respiratory therapy team with 120 staff members facility-wide
- Scrub color: Medium Gray/Pewter
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates will be considered
- Candidates must have active experience within the last 6 months in the respiratory therapy specialty
