Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Oncology/Women's Surgical travel assignment in Asheville, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of oncology experience and an active ONC certification.
Details
- Position is located on the 9K Oncology/Women's Surgical unit, on the 9th floor of a 24-bed inpatient unit within a large regional hospital
- Day shift schedule: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Patient population includes oncology and women's surgical patients
- Patient ratios are 1:4 or 1:5
- Procedures performed on the unit include occasional pelvic exams, echos, and thoracentesis
- EMR system is Cerner
- 6 weekend days required per schedule
- On-call is rare
- Floating may be required to other med/surg units, though the team rarely floats
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) required for all RNs working in oncology
- Minimum 2 years of recent oncology RN experience required
- Chemo certification preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- Chemo certification is preferred and candidates holding it will be prioritized
- RN dress code: navy, white, or a combination of both colors
- Team players with a willingness to learn are the best fit for this unit
- Day shift team composition includes 1 CNC, 4–6 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC
