Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week night shift travel contract in an 854-bed hospital's Respiratory Services department in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Large 854-bed hospital serving as the region's referral center with a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III NICU, and children's hospital
• Respiratory Services department supporting both adult and pediatric/neonatal service lines
• Night shift staffing includes 12–16 RRTs for adult service lines and 3–4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines
• Patient ratios range from 10 to 25 patients
• Equipment includes GE R860 adult ventilators, Draeger infant/peds ventilators, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen devices
• EMR: Cerner
• Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Floating required to all critical care units and floors
• At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential required
• Active North Carolina Respiratory Therapy license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the respiratory therapy specialty
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred; required if caring for neonates
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
• Work within a large respiratory services team alongside 120 staff members
• Gray/pewter scrubs required
• NRP preferred for all staff and required for those assigned to neonatal care
• Certifications from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) are accepted
