Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Medical/Telemetry position in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care telemetry experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• 9 Tower Medical/Telemetry unit located on the 9th floor of a hospital setting
• 29-bed unit staffed with 5 RNs and 3 Patient Care Techs per shift
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Common procedures include central line management and medication drips
• PCA pumps and IV pumps are utilized on the unit
• EMR system is Meditech (experience preferred)
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — Kansas or Compact license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required for Telemetry RNs
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital telemetry experience
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• Ideal candidates are positive, independent, and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills with a focus on patient care
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No Canadian SSNs accepted
