Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift position at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK.
Details
- Respiratory Care department at a large academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK
- Provides respiratory therapy services across all appropriate age levels and all areas served by the department
- Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program required
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience required; 2 years in a critical care setting preferred
- RRT credential required
- Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required; license required if applicable
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- ACLS certification from AHA required within 3 months of hire
- All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and documents patient responses in the computerized medical record
- Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients
- Serves as a resource person to medical staff and ensures respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained
- Participates as part of the rapid response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before beginning another contract
- Compliance requirements, including drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements, must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance and completed by the compliance due date — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
