Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level II trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring a minimum of 1 year of med/surg experience and an active NM or Compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift position, 7P–7A (19:00–07:00)
• 13-week travel contract
• 43-bed Medical/Surgical unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Adult patient population (18 years of age and older)
• Common diagnoses include cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, and CHF
• Equipment used includes VS machines, bladder scanners, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, and tube feeding pumps
• EMR: Cerner
• Policy recommends all staff work at least 2 weekend shifts per month
• Floating required per facility needs
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA-issued only)
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg experience required; 2 years preferred
• ADN degree or higher required
• Skills checklist must reflect an overall rating of at least 3.2

Additional Information

• Level II trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah — due to the facility's location, trauma cases ranging from Level I through III are flown in
• 198-bed facility offering medical, surgical, rehabilitation, oncology, nephrology, pediatric, behavioral health, and childbirth services
• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required; oncology skills are helpful but not necessary
• Block scheduling will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• An area-specific competency exam and skills checklist are required for consideration
• Farmington, NM is located in the San Juan River Valley, approximately 1 hour from Durango, CO and 3 hours from Albuquerque, NM, with access to hiking, kayaking, historical sightseeing, and six National Parks
