Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and active ACLS and BLS certifications.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures including stent placement, left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, and rotablator atherectomy
- Administers and monitors procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, thrombolytics, and reversal agents
- Performs sheath removal/monitoring and topical hemostasis techniques (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch)
- Monitors Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery lines and end-tidal CO2
- Systems used include Pyxis, MAC LAB, CUPID, and Epic
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:30–18:00), with some early shifts starting at 6:30
- One of the four scheduled days each week is designated as a late shift, requiring the clinician to complete the last case of the day
- On-call required one night per week
- Weekend requirement is one weekend every other month
- Float requirement as needed
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required (may be pending at time of consideration)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (may be pending at time of consideration)
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures required
- Experience with scrub procedures in the cardiac cath lab required
- Experience with cardioversion, ACT monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Two professional manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months are highly preferred for consideration
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Orientation is weekly, approximately 24 hours total; pre-start online modules are also required (estimated 8–10 hours for acute care roles)
- Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent, PRN, or employed staff must wait 12 months before being considered for a travel assignment; facility rehire approval is required
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved provided it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Travel pairs are allowed, provided each traveler has their own transportation and is comfortable with potentially different schedules
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Preferred skills include TAVR, Watchman procedure, ASD closures, valvuloplasty, endovascular interventions, carotid stenting, vascular scrub procedures, and radiation/laser safety
