Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and WA state licensure.

Details

• Level IV NICU within a 152-bed pediatric children's hospital attached to an adult facility with high-risk labor and delivery
• 70-bed NICU unit with a typical census of around 50 patients
• Patient population includes premature infants as early as 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE
• Private rooms throughout the NICU, with overflow to Level II Nursery for feeders/growers
• Procedures and skills include respiratory support for vents, NCPAP, tracheostomy care, G-tubes, NG/OG tubes, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care planning, and discharge-to-home coordination
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour night shifts (1900–0730 or 0700–1930 depending on rotation)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required; occasional back-to-back weekends possible
• Block scheduling is possible
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to the ER as a sitter is possible but rare

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact license with WA endorsement required
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Level III or IV NICU experience required
• Ventilator respiratory support experience required
• Tracheostomy experience highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• At least one professional reference from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start

• First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is strongly preferred
• Candidates should have a positive, team-oriented attitude and strong interpersonal skills
