Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position at a pediatric children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and an active WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Level IV NICU within a 152-bed children's hospital that is connected to an adult hospital with high-risk labor and delivery
• 70-bed NICU unit with a typical census of around 50 patients
• Patient population includes premature infants down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy)
• Private rooms in the NICU; Level II Nursery overflow for feeders/growers
• 12-hour rotating shifts, either 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required, with occasional back-to-back weekends
• Rare floating to the ER in a sitter capacity
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic
• Block scheduling may be available but is not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required
• Proficiency with respiratory support and mechanical ventilators required
• Experience with g-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, and PICC lines required
• Experience with tracheostomies highly preferred but not required
• Skills in medication administration, care planning, and discharge-to-home coordination required
• Epic EMR experience

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to a high-acuity neonatal population in a Level IV NICU setting
• Candidate must be able to submit at least one reference from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, etc.) for initial consideration, with a second reference required prior to start
• First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is strongly preferred
• Any scrub color is acceptable
