Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position at a Level IV NICU facility, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and proficiency with ventilator respiratory support.
Details
- 70-bed Level IV NICU within a 152-bed Level II children's hospital, with a typical census of around 50 patients
- Patient population includes premature infants as early as 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy)
- NICU is part of a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital with high-risk labor and delivery; all private rooms
- 12-hour day shifts (0700-1930) or night shifts (1900-0730), 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required; occasional back-to-back weekends possible but rare
- Rare floating to the ER in a sitter capacity
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling is possible
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active WA state RN license or compact license accepted (pending license with proof of application may be considered)
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required
- Proficiency with ventilator respiratory support required
- Experience with G-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care plans, and discharge-to-home planning required
- Tracheostomy experience highly preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be required prior to start
Additional Information
- Preferred experience includes caring for surgical NICU patients and those with HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy)
- Level IV NICU is the second highest designation in the state
- Any scrub color is acceptable
- First-time travelers will be considered, though prior travel experience is strongly preferred
