Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist with 3+ years of experience in general sonography, including abdominal and OB/GYN imaging, for a 13-week assignment in Ohio.
Details
- Acute care hospital radiology/imaging department setting
- General ultrasound exams only, including abdominal and OB/small parts imaging — vascular experience not applicable to this role
- Patient population spans all age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
- Standard schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts, either 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 7:30 AM–4:00 PM depending on room assignment
- Weekend coverage shifts are 12 hours (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), with shortened weekday shifts (approximately 7 hours) in the same week
- No on-call requirements
- 40 hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Current BLS certification required
- ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB) or OB/GYN required — at least one must be held
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Ohio state license required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and department protocols, selecting appropriate transducers and settings for optimal image quality
- Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures, obtaining relevant medical history, and ensuring proper positioning
- Recognize, document, and communicate normal and abnormal sonographic findings to radiologists and physicians
- Maintain accurate patient records including procedure details and technical data
- Ensure proper sterilization, maintenance, and quality assurance of ultrasound equipment
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Effective communication with patients and families across all age groups is essential to this role
