Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift acute care and emergency department position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting covering Emergency Department, Medical Surgical Unit, and Step-Down units
- 495-bed facility
- Patient assessment, treatment of pulmonary disease, and pulmonary related patient education
- Patient ratio of approximately 80:1, typically seeing 20-25 patients per round
- Epic EMR experience required
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- No floating required
Requirements
- in Respiratory Therapy
- Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA only
- Virginia state license required if applicable
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care including patient assessment, pulmonary disease treatment, and patient education across acute and emergency care settings
- Work as part of a cardiopulmonary services team within a hospital recognized for patient safety excellence
- Hunter green scrub color required per facility dress code policy
- Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates within the radius are not accepted for this position
