Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care night shift position in Maine, requiring an active ME or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work setting includes a post acute long term care and skilled nursing facility (SNF) environment across multiple units
- 3 East is a 31-bed specialized unit focused on Alzheimer's and dementia residents, emphasizing both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
- The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit is a 42-bed short-term skilled nursing and rehab unit serving patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other illnesses or injuries
- 3 West is a 42-bed long-term care unit providing care to residents requiring long-term placement in a home-like environment
- Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Floating to other units is required as needed
- Coverage flexibility required across 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
Requirements
- Active Maine (ME) or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong teamwork and communication skills required
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- No previous employment at this facility — prior employees will not be considered
- Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered

- Partners with residents and interdisciplinary care teams to create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic care environment
- Care includes both direct and indirect patient/resident care responsibilities
- Dementia unit care requires understanding of difficult behaviors as valid forms of communication and tailoring care accordingly
