Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care (LTC) position in Maine, requiring a valid ME or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Post acute long term care setting within a regional medical center
- Units include a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia specialized unit (3 East), a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU) for short-term skilled nursing and rehab, and a 42-bed long-term care unit (3 West)
- Patient population includes Alzheimer's/dementia residents, long-term care residents, and short-term rehab patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other injuries or illnesses
- Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Floating to other units required as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Strong teamwork, communication, and flexibility skills required
- Medical terminology preferred
Additional Information
- Partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment through direct and indirect care
- Care for dementia/Alzheimer's residents involves use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and an understanding of behavioral expressions as a form of communication
- Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for this position
- Local candidates are welcome to apply but will receive a lower local pay rate
- Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered
