Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring strong post-surgical competencies, telemetry monitoring skills, and a Michigan RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital Med/Surg unit setting
- Post-surgical patient population with complex care needs
- Patient ratio of 1:6, which may flex to 1:7 with additional support staff on site
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required to other Med/Surg, ICU, and ED (waiting area) to receive Med/Surg patients as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Current BLS (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg or PCU experience required
- Strong post-surgical competencies required
- Proficiency in telemetry remote monitoring required
- Experience with the following skills required: colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing ports, blood product administration, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drains, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen delivery devices, portable oxygen, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
- Must be available for the full first two weeks of the assignment

- Holiday time-off requests are not accepted; any scheduling needs around holidays must be discussed directly with the manager based on unit availability
