Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Portsmouth, NH, requiring 2 years of hospital experience, IV certification, and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• 36-bed Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patients require telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios of 1:6, with occasional 1:7 during surge
• Unit is supported by LNAs on both shifts and a unit secretary on day shift only
• Telemetry equipment used on the unit
• Documentation via Meditech Expanse
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Self-scheduling available, with leadership retaining the right to balance the schedule
• Float to same level of care units required

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• IV certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Procedures performed on the unit include CBI, wound care, drain management (chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt, etc.), Foley insertion, central line dressing changes, telemetry monitoring, and PRN EKGs
• Bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, and personal connections are expected patient experience practices on this unit
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
• Scrubs in any color are acceptable
• 13-week contract
