Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele Float Pool position at a large academic Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to float across multiple inpatient units.
Details
- Large short-term acute care teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds
- Float pool position covering Med/Surg, Telemetry, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neuro, Medicine, and ED Holding/Boarding units
- Nurses are expected to float shift-to-shift across all inpatient areas, excluding Women's and Infant and Labor & Delivery
- Some floors operate on a primary nursing model
- Patient ratios of 1:4–6 depending on unit
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Charting via Epic; experience required
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- IV insertion proficiency required
- Telemetry experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Strong, independent nurses are needed to manage a high-acuity float pool across a large hospital campus
- Navy scrubs required
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Monthly parking passes are available for purchase; parking is free for straight night shift workers
