Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Hickory, NC, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Work in a 32-bed Emergency Department at a 355-bed acute care hospital
- Patient population spans all ages (birth to death)
- Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Rotating every other weekend required
- Hours may be adjusted based on census (push-back)
- Floating may be required to other areas within the nurse's competencies
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- ED experience required, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with strokes, STEMIs, and trauma preferred
- Strong critical care thinking and patient/family communication skills
- Social Security number required for consideration
- Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- The ED handles all trauma cases, though the facility does not hold a formal trauma designation
- The hospital is home to specialized centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, and more
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Any color scrubs are acceptable; hoodies and inappropriate t-shirts are not permitted
- Orientation start dates are available in late June or late July
