Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Hickory, NC, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a 32-bed Emergency Department at a 355-bed acute care hospital
• Patient population spans all ages (birth to death)
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating every other weekend required
• Hours may be adjusted based on census (push-back)
• Floating may be required to other areas within the nurse's competencies
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ED experience required, preferably in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with strokes, STEMIs, and trauma preferred
• Strong critical care thinking and patient/family communication skills
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• The ED handles all trauma cases, though the facility does not hold a formal trauma designation
• The hospital is home to specialized centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, and more
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; hoodies and inappropriate t-shirts are not permitted
• Orientation start dates are available in late June or late July
