Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with outpatient and neuro-adult experience for a 13-week assignment at a hospital in Idaho.
Details
- Outpatient OT setting with coverage across all areas of the hospital as needed
- Focuses on neuro-adult patient population
- Individual caseload of 10–12 patients; facility total therapy caseload is approximately 140 patients
- 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
- Equipment used includes Epic EMR, gait belts, assistive devices, lift devices, and adaptive equipment
Requirements
- Graduate of a nationally accredited school of occupational therapy required
- Current OT license in the state of Idaho required (license required if applicable)
- Acute care experience required
- Outpatient and neuro-adult experience required
- Critical care experience preferred but not required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and maintain standing and/or sitting positions for extended periods
- 2 current references required: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Plan and conduct individualized OT programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain the ability to perform daily activities
- Teach patients adaptive techniques and use of assistive equipment for daily activities
- Evaluate and document patient progress throughout the course of treatment
- Orientation is conducted with staff for each unit or comparable units
- Business casual dress code; scrubs are acceptable
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Strong communication skills and flexibility are important for success in this role
