Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a 36-hour rotating shift position requiring 2 years of ED nursing experience and active MA RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and separate Acute Mental Health area
• All patient population types seen, with an average census of 230 visits per day
• Clinician to patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses EPIC EMR with ASAP module for charting
• Day rotate schedule with every-other-weekend requirement, 36 hours per week
• Rotating shifts required among 7a-7p, 11a-11p, and 7p-7a when requested, with low rotation frequency
• Night position does not rotate
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• TNCC and NRP certifications strongly preferred
• General ED nursing skills required including assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
