Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Inpatient Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a Level 2 trauma center offering adult and pediatric acute inpatient and rehab services.

Details

• Acute inpatient setting at a Level 2 adult and pediatric trauma center and primary stroke center
• Covers adult and pediatric acute inpatient, adult and pediatric ICUs, adult and pediatric acute inpatient rehab, and additional units as needed
• Patient population includes adult and pediatric ICU, trauma, neuro, ortho, general med/surg, oncology, inpatient rehab, and stroke specialty program
• Department volume is approximately 120–150 patients per day; individual therapist caseload is approximately 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per day
• 8-hour day shifts with a variable schedule; self-scheduling is not permitted
• Weekend and holiday rotation with core staff required
• 13-week contract
• Charting in Cerner; system is transitioning to Epic

Requirements

• Active OT license required by start date; license if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Strong ADL evaluation and documentation skills, including justification for next level of care
• Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills
• 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience and 1 peer or supervisor reference from relevant specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Perform ADL evaluations, treatment sessions, and documentation supporting next level of care decisions
• Team includes 1 rehab aide and 1 COTA
• Orientation length varies based on individual skill level
• Any solid color, clean and professional scrubs required
• Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
• Due to a credentialing process that occurs on a set monthly schedule, the full process from submission to start date may take up to 2 months or longer; WI state license and all onboarding must be completed by a specific deadline to avoid a delayed start
