Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and certifications including TNCC.

Details

• Work setting is a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
• Emergency Department with 48 beds plus flex space
• Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, psychiatric, and substance abuse presentations, with common diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, abdominal pain, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis
• Patient ratios are 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
• Shift is mids, rotating across a combination of three shift windows: 10am–10pm, 12pm–12am, and 3pm–3am (12-hour shifts)
• Minimum of two weekends per schedule required
• No on-call or float requirements
• EMR is Cerner
• Equipment includes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC devices, and Ultrasound Guided IV
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required
• Minimum education: RN ADN

• Department operates under a team nursing and Pod System model
• A social worker is assigned to the department and a Unit Educator is available for support
• An area-specific competency exam and skills checklist are required for consideration
• Farmington, NM is located in the San Juan River Valley, approximately 1 hour from Durango, CO and 3 hours from Albuquerque, NM, with access to hiking, kayaking, off-roading, and six National Parks
