Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Home Health position in Portland, ME, requiring at least 2 years of home health experience and Epic/OASIS proficiency.
Details
- Home health setting serving adult and pediatric patients across medical/surgical, oncology, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, wound care, GI, and GU specialties
- Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Every other weekend rotation with a weekday off, or a permanent Tuesday–Saturday schedule (Sun/Mon off), or a permanent Sunday–Thursday schedule (Fri/Sat off), based on agency needs at time of contract
- No overnight call; call-back required 2–4 times per month between 5:00–8:00 PM — notification of whether a visit is needed is given by 5:00 PM that day
- Caseload of 20–25 patients with an expectation of 5–6 visits per day; may serve as a revisitor if agency needs change
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- No float requirements within the unit, though a 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply as needed
- Clinician is provided a laptop, iPhone with case and chargers, mouse, nursing supply bin, nursing bag with vital signs equipment, INR machine, and agency bag — all equipment must be returned upon departure
Requirements
- Active RN license — ME license or Compact RN license currently in hand required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of home health RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- OASIS documentation experience required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Preferred skills include IV therapy, tube feeds, VAC dressings, compression wraps, port access, ostomy care, chest tube management, suprapubic catheters, and lab draws
- Business casual attire or scrubs of any color are acceptable; jeans, open-toed shoes, and clothing with holes are not permitted
- Personal use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones while on assignment is prohibited
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at the time of application
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay structure; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
