Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU/LTACH position requiring recent MS/Tele experience and ACLS certification, with night shifts at a Level II Trauma and Stroke Center in St. Joseph, MO.

Details

• Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) setting within a 352-bed Level II Trauma and Stroke Center
• PCU patient population with high acuity, including post-open heart surgery, cystic fibrosis, vent weaning, pulmonary fibrosis, and high-volume sepsis patients from wounds
• Patient population ranges from med-surg type to intubated/trached ventilator-dependent patients requiring extended hospital stays
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Self-scheduling with every third weekend required (approximately 8 weekend shifts per contract)
• Floating required
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required; pending license acceptable but must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• MS, Telemetry, or PCU experience within the last year required
• BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must provide two professional references for consideration
• Must provide copies of a valid Driver's License and Social Security Card for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for high-acuity LTACH patients requiring extended hospital stays prior to discharge to home, acute rehab, or skilled nursing facilities
• ICU-level patients are frequently floated to the LTACH unit due to patient acuity
• Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local pay rates
• The facility serves as the only tertiary hospital between Kansas City and Omaha, supporting a broad regional patient population
