Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active NV RN license.
Details
- Sierra Med/Tele unit at a Level II Trauma Center — the only such center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City
- Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts per week
- Schedule varies based on department needs and may include weekends and holidays
- One additional shift pickup required per schedule period
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to other units may be required up to the traveler's competency level
- EMR: Epic (training provided during orientation, or candidates may test out)
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or perm license may be considered and must apply immediately upon offer)
- Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring telemetry rhythm strips
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate care across disciplines and serve as the primary accountable nurse for patient outcomes across the episode of care
- Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 13-week break after their last contract before returning
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
