Description
American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Anchorage, AK, requiring ARRT (M)(R) certification and at least 2 years of experience in screening and diagnostic mammography.
Details
- Breast Diagnostics unit within a hospital-based radiology department
- Procedures include screening and diagnostic mammography, stereotactic guided wire localizations, and biopsies
- Uses Hologic Selenia Dimensions and Affirm Stereotactic equipment
- EMR systems include Epic, Volpara, and McKesson PACS
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
- No call, no weekends, and no holiday coverage required
- May float to MRI for breast positioning as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mammography, with proficiency in both screening and diagnostic mammography
- ARRT (M)(R) and BLS certifications required
- 8 hours of tomosynthesis training required
- Must have active certification and licensure — license required if applicable
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, stereotactic guided wire localizations, and biopsies
- May assist with breast positioning in MRI as needed
- Team includes a radiologist, ultrasound tech, and mammographer
- Experience with stereotactic guided biopsies, wire localizations, and weekly quality control is preferred
- Ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, patient-focused, and skilled in high-quality positioning
- Grey or pewter scrubs required
