Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion position at an outpatient oncology clinic, requiring a minimum of 2 years of true chemo infusion experience and current chemo/biotherapy certification.

Details

• Outpatient infusion clinic setting with 56 infusion chairs
• Patient population includes outpatient chemotherapy, blood transfusions, enzyme replacement, Remicade infusions, multiple sclerosis infusions, and kidney transplant infusions
• High-volume clinic averaging 180–200 patients per day
• Staffing includes 2 NPs and 18–22 nurses daily, with a resource nurse and charge nurse on the floor
• Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts, 7a–7p
• Weekend shifts required
• 1 major holiday coverage required
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Travelers may be asked to float to other campus Infusion Centers when necessary
• EMR: Epic with Beacon module (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and chemo/biotherapy card required
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient infusion experience required — must be true chemo infusion experience
• Ambulatory oncology experience required
• Epic/Beacon EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomy, injections, symptom management, focused assessments, and patient education
• Care coordination duties include scheduling follow-ups, arranging labs, and communicating with front desk staff and providers
• Clinical techs are available to assist with IV placement and blood draws
• Orientation is 1–2 weeks
• Navy scrubs required
• Travelers are expected to be flexible and contribute to a welcoming, relationship-centered environment for all patients
