Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Urbana, IL, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED nursing experience and active Epic proficiency.
Details
- Hospital Emergency Department setting
- Mid shift: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- 2 on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation to be onsite within one hour of being called
- A mandatory 2-week nights rotation is required of all travelers
- Block scheduling is not available
- Every other weekend shift required
- Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
- Epic EMR required; experience must be reflected on candidate profile
- No floating requirements
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- TNCC preferred
- Minimum 3 years of relevant ED nursing experience
- Level 2 or higher trauma center experience preferred; Level 1 trauma experience is strongly preferred and must be reflected on candidate profile
- Epic EMR experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to ED patients including initial assessment, care plan development, implementation of nursing interventions, and ongoing evaluation
- Responsible for accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
- Collaborates with providers, patients, and families to ensure safe, effective care
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Requested time off (RTO) not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on assignment with this health system for 1 continuous year must either convert to permanent staff or take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the health system
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded; candidate must meet all experience requirements
