Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license and a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in an acute care hospital setting
• 15-bed unit consisting of 3 Step-Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
• Patient ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care, 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
• Procedures include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
• Equipment used includes BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Charting via Meditech; Pyxis used for medication management
• Varied shift schedule, 36 hours per week (after orientation week)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to all acute in-house units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon offer acceptance
• Current BLS/BCLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Current PALS preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

• Primary nursing care responsibilities in a progressive care and step-down ICU setting
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend an Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Scrubs required as dress code
• 13-week contract
