Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience along with CNMT or NMTCB certification and proficiency in adult and nuclear cardiology settings.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting in a Nuclear Medicine department
  • Adult and nuclear cardiology patient population
  • Procedures include gastric emptying, HIDA scan, MUGA scan, 3-phase, whole body bone scan, liver imaging, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion, exercise/rest-multiple, and pharmacological stress studies
  • Day shift, 4x10 hours, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Rotating on-call required, covering one full week at a time including all after-hours, Saturdays, and Sundays
  • Charting in Cerner is required
  • Free parking on-site

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted) required
  • CNMT or NMTCB certification required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Indiana or Compact state license required; license required if applicable
  • Experience in adult and nuclear cardiology settings required
  • Proficiency in peripheral IV insertion and maintenance required
  • Experience with storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • 2 supervisor references required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates (Indiana residents) are accepted
  • Candidates must be willing to multitask and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Performs isolation precaution procedures as needed
  • Travelers may be asked to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
  • Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
  • Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler
  • IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within the IU Health system must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
