Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position requiring at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification, with a 3x12 day shift schedule.
Details
- Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes a wide range of diagnoses such as sepsis, CIWA, AMS/confusion, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Shift: Days, 3x12 hours (7:00–19:00)
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active Idaho (ID) or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Proficiency with computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software
- Ability to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills
Additional Information
- Applies the nursing process across patient age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Thorough documentation required in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards
- Must be adaptable to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with evolving patient safety requirements
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
