Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position requiring at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification, with a 3x12 day shift schedule.

Details

• Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes a wide range of diagnoses such as sepsis, CIWA, AMS/confusion, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Shift: Days, 3x12 hours (7:00–19:00)
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred
• Weekend and holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active Idaho (ID) or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Proficiency with computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software
• Ability to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Strong organizational, critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills

Additional Information

• Applies the nursing process across patient age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Thorough documentation required in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards
• Must be adaptable to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with evolving patient safety requirements
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
