Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry Oncology unit within an academic hospital setting
• Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy cases undergoing diagnostic services and symptom management, and patients requiring comorbidity management
• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (7:00–19:30 days / 19:00–7:30 nights); shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
• Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Special equipment in use includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Epic EMR experience is required

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, PICC line management, IV insertion, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management, and ABG interpretation
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; no coworker references accepted
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted
• Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation
• RTO must be requested at the time of submission and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet as quickly as possible upon receipt
