Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Rehabilitation unit position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg experience and active BLS certification.

Details

• Rehabilitation unit in an inpatient hospital setting with 41 beds and 60+ nursing staff
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Equipment used includes patient lifts, iSTAT, glucometer, inhaler/breathing treatment administration, and wound vac dressing changes
• Telemetry patients present on the unit; must pass Airstrip telemetry competency
• EMR: Meditech
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience
• Minimum 2 years of overall clinical experience required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• ACLS preferred
• CRRN certification preferred
• Knowledge of Quality Indicator scoring in a post-acute setting preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assisting with rehabilitation care plans established by an interdisciplinary team, lab draws, IV antibiotics, IV medications, blood administration, and head-to-toe assessments
• Ideal candidate enjoys patient and family education, demonstrates strong communication skills, and serves as a patient advocate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
