Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background.
Details
- Hospital Med/Surg unit setting in Urbana, IL
- Night shift schedule working three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend shift required
- Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis to fill open shifts
- 13-week contract, 36 hours per week
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient assessment and admission, care planning, medication administration, hourly rounding, patient education, and care plan documentation
- Delegates patient care tasks to Health Care Technicians (HCTs) and validates task completion throughout the shift
- Conducts bedside shift report with the outgoing RN, including patient input and visual validation of a safe room environment
- Maintains focus on patient safety including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
- Effectively manages throughput for Observation status patients, facilitating timely testing and discharge disposition
- Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the system
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Candidate interviews are conducted by a facility leader
