Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Henderson, NC, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and proficiency in IV starts, foley catheters, and NG tubes.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit in a Joint Commission-accredited, 205-licensed-bed acute care hospital
• 48-bed Med/Surg unit with a 1:6 patient ratio and high patient turnover
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Occasional floating to inpatient rehab or ER for tasking is possible, though rare
• EHR: Paragon
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Proficiency in IV insertion, foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate

Additional Information

• Preferred experience working at a 1:6 patient ratio in a high-turnover environment
• Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
