Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at an 80-bed acute rehabilitation hospital in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of experience and a valid NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital setting — not a SNF
- 80-bed facility serving as the only rehab hospital in Western NC and a regional referral center
- IRF Rehab Unit covering all 4 interconnected, interchangeable units
- Patient population includes stroke, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and a broad range of post-acute rehabilitation conditions
- Patient ratio of 5–6 patients per nurse
- CNAs available on all shifts; 11 hours of unit secretary support per day
- Equipment includes IV pumps, specialty beds, feeding pumps, lifts and transfer equipment, and life vests
- Two on-unit dialysis rooms serviced by nurses from an outside facility
- EMR: Meditech
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Schedule is predominantly weekends (three 12-hour shifts)
- No floating — all units are connected and interchangeable
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in inpatient rehab or a related specialty
- Med-surg background required; inpatient rehab experience is a plus
- Meditech experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Navy scrubs with white tops are required
- CARF and Joint Commission accredited facility
- Located in the mountains of Western North Carolina, offering year-round mild weather and abundant outdoor and recreational activities
