Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week PCU night shift travel assignment in Salt Lake City, UT, requiring telemetry interpretation skills and a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center certified hospital in Salt Lake City, UT
- 34-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
- Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, and progressive care patients
- Procedures performed on unit include TEE and cardioversions
- Equipment used includes continuous cardiac monitoring, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, PCA pumps, and Alaris IV infusion pumps
- Documentation system: Epic
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week period, plus holiday rotation
- Floating within competency required
Requirements
- Active UT or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or related clinical experience required
- Telemetry interpretation skills required
- Experience managing vasoactive drips, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, and post-cardiac procedure patients preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and maintaining patient-centered care standards
- Unit support includes a charge nurse without assignment when census allows, patient care technicians, and dedicated telemetry monitoring support
- Rapid response participation is expected
- Caribbean blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
