Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
- Work in a cardiac cath lab performing both diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Patient population includes middle and older adults
- Procedures include cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, PCI, PTCA, rotablader atherectomy, and scrub procedures
- Charting in Cerner (experience required)
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Candidate will work 2–3 weekends per contract
- On-call required as needed
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required of all travelers
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of cath lab experience required
- Experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings required
- Active ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS certifications required — AHA and Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted
- Proficiency with equipment setup, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, isolation precautions, and sterile technique
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Active professional license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Must be in Illinois 3 business days prior to compliance hard deadline to complete fingerprinting requirements
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO requests of 5 days or fewer are generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Travel pairs are not accepted
- Scrubs are provided
- Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
